How much does a robotic lawnmower cost including installation?
The price of the mower mainly depends on the lawn size and navigation technology. There can be significant price differences between a compact boundary-wire model and an RTK system designed for several thousand square metres. After the on-site assessment, we calculate the installation at a fixed price based on factors such as cable length, number of zones and power supply requirements. You receive the total price in writing before making your decision.
Do I still need a boundary wire?
Not necessarily. Wire-free RTK and GPS systems operate without a boundary wire and are configured digitally via an app. Reliable satellite reception is essential, which is why we check the conditions on site before you choose a system.
Can a robotic lawnmower handle slopes?
Yes. Depending on the model, many robotic lawnmowers can handle slopes of around 45%, while some models can manage even steeper gradients. Ground conditions and the mower's route are just as important as its specified climbing ability. On wet ground, for example, a mower may lose traction even below its maximum rated slope. That is why we assess the gradient on site rather than relying solely on technical specifications.
Can one robotic lawnmower mow several separate lawn areas?
In many cases, yes. Zones and connecting passages can allow a single mower to cover front gardens, main lawns and additional areas. If there is no accessible connection between the areas, some systems allow the mower to be manually moved between zones.
What happens if satellite reception is poor?
Dense tree coverage, high walls or neighbouring buildings can interfere with satellite reception. In many cases, this can be resolved by optimising the position of the reference antenna. If not, we recommend a boundary-wire system rather than installing an RTK mower that may not operate reliably.
Are robotic lawnmowers safe for hedgehogs and pets?
Modern robotic lawnmowers are equipped with safety features and stop immediately if they are lifted or tilted. However, there is still a potential risk, particularly at dusk and during the night when hedgehogs are active. We therefore recommend mowing during daylight hours and configure the mowing schedule accordingly. Models with camera-based object detection can further reduce the risk.
Do you also service robotic lawnmowers that were not purchased from you?
Yes. We service and repair Automower, Mammotion, Ambrogio and other common brands, even if the mower was purchased elsewhere. We can also optimise existing installations that are not working reliably – common causes include zone configuration, boundary-wire routing or antenna positioning.
Does a robotic lawnmower need to be stored during winter?
Yes. The mower and battery should be stored in a frost-free environment. Winter maintenance can also include cleaning, blade replacement and software updates. Upon request, we can take care of winter storage and prepare your mower for operation again in spring.
